Geothermal energy is heat energy that’s generated and stored in the Earth. For hundreds of years, it’s been used across the globe for cooking, washing, and bathing. Currently, it is being used to generate electricity. At SoloGen Systems, we provide commercial, governmental, and utility customers with this source of green, clean energy that’s widely available and beneficial to your health and the environment.
Our job is to develop mega-watt scale geothermal power plants in the Gulf Coast region of Texas. We use existing oil and gas wells with geo-pressured geothermal resources for the co-production of geothermal energy and natural gas/condensate to produce utility scale, baseload electricity. What this means is, we turn super-heated water from abandoned oil and gas wells throughout Boerne, TX into a reliable energy source that’s green, clean, and renewable.
The initial project is patterned after, within three miles of, and correlated to the same resource as the successful DOE “Pleasant Bayou #2” project.
- Estimated 2.7 MW - 24/7, base-load generation
The SoloGen Geothermal Power Plant will produce 20% the CO2 of a coal plant and 50% the CO2 of a natural gas plant.
